Little Happenings

This week of little happenings in photos…

^^ Yellow blooms in front of our apartment. I just love that our garden style apartment building actually has a garden in the front lawn. It’s always fun to see what flowers are blooming between Spring to Fall.

^^ Garlic basil tomato sauce that I made from scratch with meatless meatballs and angel hair. Charles and I are officially 3 weeks into our vegetarian exploration and it’s been so much to experiment around with recipes. I’ve been posting videos on my Insta-stories to help keep myself motivated to cook. So far so good. :)

^^ We snagged some last minute tickets to the National Museum of African American History & Culture and took Charles’s parents to visit when they were in town.

^^ Sunday vibes at our home w/ Charles and my Peachy Poo.

^^ You ever wake up in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror and think, “Ahhhhh! I look scary!”? The photo on the left was me this past Tuesday morning at 6am. O_O Photo on the right was me at 8:30am at work. Muuuuuuuch better lol.

^^ A bowling shoefie with my boo-fie. My bro, Kris, was in town for a few days and we all linked up for a game of bowling which once again… Charles won the first round. The second round, my friend’s girlfriend beat Charles by 10 points which made me soooo happy. I know that sounds bad but if I can’t beat Charles in a game of bowling then someone else beating him will suffice in the meantime. ;)

What were some of your favorite little happenings from this past week?

P.S. My most recent blog posts: NYC Girls Trip and Summer Recharge

  • We got our meatless meatballs from Trader Joe’s which is general has some great meatless offerings. They have a meatless beef that we’ve used for tacos last week (just heated it up with black beans and taco seasoning, it’s delish!). As for a recipe, I’ve never written a food post like that before but maybe I’ll give it a try. :)

And LOL! You gotta set up some kind of neighborhood watch to figure out who did it. If it happens again, I’d speak to BOTH neighbors. xoxo

    • Orrrrr (this idea just popped up) you could put up a sign that says “Poop On My Porch, Pick It Up.” ???

  • I’m definitely going to have to try the meatless meatballs. I have to say I’m on a roll with my eating cutting out a lot meat still flirting with turkey and seafood but I don’t think it’s too bad lol. The only thing about living outside of the city I gotta travel into the city to hit my “local” whole foods, sprouts, and trader joe’s but it’s worth it tho. What brand did you get?

    • Same. I’m about 90% vegetarian. When I’m on my period or in general craving something more heartier, I do eat seafood. The meatless meatballs I got are from trader joe’s, it’s their store brand. :)

  • Haha, I think that every morning at 6:15am! Those meatless meatballs look just delicious – that’s great that you are enjoying the veggie cooking and being experimental with it :)

    • Hahahaha! When the “just got out of bed look” starts trending in the fashion industry, we’ll be ahead of the game ;)
